Shiva Sheikholeslam, D.M.D., M.D.S.

Dr. Shiva Sheik received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology and Neurosciences from the University of California at San Diego. She then graduated Summa Cum Laude at the top of her class from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Dr. Sheik subsequently completed a three-year orthodontic residency at the University of Connecticut, where she obtained her Master of Dental Science degree. She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Dental Society for her high achievements.

Dr. Sheik values the importance of continuing education and is committed to understanding the latest orthodontic philosophies. She is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association and the Mid-Peninsula Dental Society. Dr. Sheik is a certified Platinum Invisalign® provider. She is constantly increasing her orthodontic knowledge by attending numerous orthodontic lectures, continuing education courses and dental society meetings. She is devoted to providing her patients with the most up-to-date orthodontic treatment philosophies in a warm, fun, loving and compassionate environment.

Dr. Sheik grew up in Los Altos and feels fortunate to be living and practicing in her hometown. Fun fact is that she actually shadowed/interned at this very office when she was only 14 years old! She is very involved in her local community and volunteers her time, energy and financial support to many local schools and various organizations. Her husband, Dr. Steve Lim, is a Prosthodontist who maintains a private practice in the Bay Area. With their two active boys, they enjoy bonding over culinary adventures, golfing, biking, skiing and mostly laughing with friends and family.

Katherine Zhang, D.M.D.,  M.S.

Dr. Zhang grew up in the beautiful city of Montreal and earned her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from McGill University. Graduating with honors, she received multiple awards for her professionalism and exceptionally fine doctor-patient relationship. Following graduation, she furthered her training in general dentistry at University of Connecticut where she worked closely with veterans and underserved populations. To pursue an exclusive practice of orthodontics, Dr. Zhang moved to the City of Brotherly Love to attend University of Pennsylvania and obtained a Master of Science in Oral Biology and Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

Dr. Zhang understands the power of a confident smile and she is passionate about helping her patients achieve theirs. She loves to get to know her patients and feels blessed to be part of the orthodontic profession. Dr. Zhang is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a certified Diamond Invisalign® provider.

Dr. Zhang loves living in the Bay Area and enjoys its numerous hiking trails. In her free time, she likes to bake delicious sweet treats, do Yoga and Pilates, travel and learn about different cultures.

Joy Chang, D.D.S.,  M.S.  

drjoy2Dr. Joy Chang is an orthodontist who was born in Walnut Creek, California and spent her childhood growing up in Hong Kong and Taiwan. She graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, and completed a 1-year program at the National Institutes of Health, where her research on synthetic biology was published in Science and in Genetics. Transitioning from her work in chemical engineering, Dr. Chang obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco, where she met her husband, who is a pediatric dentist.

She completed her Orthodontics Residency and Master’s Degree at the University of Connecticut. During her residency, Dr. Chang is the recipient of several prestigious awards from the American Association of Orthodontist Foundation and Northeastern Society of Orthodontist for her extensive research on acceleration in orthodontic tooth movement. Dr. Chang has also received the Harry Sicher award and presented at the American Association of Orthodontists annual meeting in 2019. She was also recently invited to the Angle Society, North-Atlantic component. She is Board-Certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.  

After spending several years on the East Coast, Dr Chang is thrilled to be back in the Golden State! Dr. Chang loves to travel and explore new destinations with her husband in their free time. She also enjoys exploring national parks, hiking, brunching, hosting dinners, and spending time with friends and family.
